The Bioliner has a soft insert producing gentle, continuous realignment on all teeth which have been reset. The soft insert allows individual tooth movement up to 1-1/2mm per tray, depending on space. The Bioliner is worn for 2 to 3 weeks. The Plus, without a soft insert, is then worn to finish for 1-2 weeks. The patient may be re-impressed at this appointment for a new Bioliner if necessary. Up to 3 Bioliners can be made from the original models upon request. Re-impressing after 3 Bioliners gives control back to the Doctor, and eliminates improper fitting trays which are common among other systems. Our Bioliner, with its soft insert, reduces tray totals ultimately saving lab fees and treatment time. The Bioliner can also be used for bleaching trays in conjunction with realignment. Upon finishing the case, the Plus may then be used as a final retainer further reducing lab fees.

The total treatment approach.To gain adequate space, transverse and Sagittal development is often achieved with functional appliances before finishing with Bioliners. This approach not only reduces the total amount of Bioliners needed, but creates a broad full smile that patients are looking for. Patients will also be happy to hear that in many cases, straight wire treatment can be eliminated using this approach. If a non expansion approach is chosen, and there is not enough space, the Doctor will be required to do A.R.S. to gain the space. Bioliners are used to correct cases with rotated teeth, tipped teeth, and minor relapse cases. The Bioliners are not used to correct Class II, Classes III, open bites, closed bites, or excessive crowding. Minor relapse cases are also perfect for the Bioliner treatment. The first Bioliner will move teeth about 1/2mm. The secondand beyond can move 1/2mm to 1-1/2mms per Bioliner depending on the mobility of the teeth. Once the first Bioliner isused, the teeth become more mobile which in turn allows for more movement per Bioliner
